The Peru Escape 8 Days: Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a Peru tour package or a custom trip?

Both. It is a ready-made Peru vacation package with every hotel, transfer, guide, train and excursion already planned, but it runs as a custom trip: you choose the date, the hotel category and the number of travelers, and we can adjust any day. Departures are daily, all year.

Is 8 days enough for Cusco and Machu Picchu?

Yes. Eight days lets you see Lima, Cusco, the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu without rushing, with a full day to acclimatize in Cusco and a night in Aguas Calientes before your visit.

What is included in the Peru Escape package?

7 nights with breakfast, airport transfers, the Lima and Cusco city tours, the Sacred Valley tour with Chinchero and Ollantaytambo, the panoramic train and Machu Picchu with guide and shuttle bus.

How is this different from the Peru Escape 7 Days?

The 8-day version adds a full day to acclimatize in Cusco, a guided Cusco city tour and a night in the Sacred Valley, for an even more relaxed pace.

Do I need to hike?

No. Visits are guided walks, with some stairs inside Machu Picchu and at Ollantaytambo. The trip suits most travelers, including families and seniors.

How does the itinerary help with altitude?

You fly from Lima to Cusco (approx. 3,400 m) and keep the rest of that day free to rest. The Sacred Valley (approx. 2,900 m) and Machu Picchu (approx. 2,430 m) are lower than Cusco, which makes acclimatization easier. Drink plenty of water, avoid alcohol on arrival and consult your doctor before travel if you have a medical condition.

Can I customize The Peru Escape?

Yes. Departures are daily, all year, and every day of this 10-day itinerary can be adapted: add nights, upgrade hotels, switch to a luxury train to Machu Picchu or add Huayna Picchu. Just tell us in the request form.

How much does The Peru Escape cost?

The price depends on the hotel category you choose (Essential 2★, Comfort 3★, Superior 4★ or Deluxe 5★) and on the number of travelers. Open the Rates tab for the current price per person, based on double or twin accommodation. Domestic flights are quoted separately so you can choose airline and schedule.
