Peru Escape 7 Days: Frequently Asked Questions

Is one week enough to visit Peru?

One week is enough for Lima, Cusco, the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu at a comfortable pace. If you have more time, add Lake Titicaca, the Nazca Lines or the Amazon with one of our 10-day tours.

What is included in the Peru Escape 7 Days?

6 nights of accommodation with breakfast, airport transfers, the Lima city tour, the Sacred Valley tour, the panoramic train, the Machu Picchu entrance ticket with guide and shuttle bus, and all listed entrance fees.

Do I need to hike on this tour?

No. The visits are guided walks through Lima, the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu, with some stairs and uneven paths inside the citadel. It is suitable for most travelers, including families and seniors.

How do you get to Machu Picchu?

By panoramic train from Ollantaytambo, in the Sacred Valley, to Aguas Calientes (approx. 1.5 hours), and then by shuttle bus up to the citadel (approx. 25 minutes). This itinerary includes both, with a night in Aguas Calientes so you visit Machu Picchu early in the morning.

How does the itinerary help with altitude?

You keep your first afternoon in Cusco (approx. 3,400 m) free to rest, and the next day you descend to the Sacred Valley (approx. 2,900 m) and Machu Picchu (approx. 2,430 m), both lower than Cusco. Drink plenty of water and check with your doctor if you have a medical condition.

When is the best time to visit Machu Picchu?

April to November is the dry season, with the clearest skies. Machu Picchu is open all year, and from December to March the mountains are at their greenest, with afternoon rain.

Can I customize this 7-day tour?

Yes. Departures are daily, all year, and every day of this 10-day itinerary can be adapted: add nights, upgrade hotels, switch to a luxury train to Machu Picchu or add Huayna Picchu. Just tell us in the request form.

How much does the Peru Escape 7 Days cost?

The price depends on the hotel category you choose (Essential 2★, Comfort 3★, Superior 4★ or Deluxe 5★) and on the number of travelers. Open the Rates tab for the current price per person, based on double or twin accommodation. Domestic flights are quoted separately so you can choose airline and schedule.
