Ocean to Rainforest 15 Days: Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a Peru tour package or a custom trip?

Both. It is a ready-made Peru vacation package with every hotel, transfer, guide, train and excursion already planned, but it runs as a custom trip: you choose the date, the hotel category and the number of travelers, and we can adjust any day. Departures are daily, all year.

Can I see the coast, the Andes and the Amazon in 15 days?

Yes. This itinerary spends four days on the coast and in Arequipa, six in the Andes (Colca, Lake Titicaca, Cusco and Machu Picchu) and three in the Tambopata rainforest, linked by road and two short flights.

Why Tambopata for the Amazon?

Tambopata is a short flight from Cusco, so you can reach the rainforest without a long journey. The Tambopata National Reserve is one of the most biodiverse places on Earth, with giant otters, macaws, monkeys and caimans.

What is included in the Ocean to Rainforest package?

14 nights with breakfast (all meals at the jungle lodge), the Ballestas boat trip, the Nazca Lines flight, the Colca tour, the Lake Titicaca islands, the Route of the Sun bus, the panoramic train, Machu Picchu with guide and the 3-day Tambopata program.

Do I need vaccines for the Amazon?

The yellow fever vaccine is recommended for the Peruvian Amazon. Bring insect repellent and long sleeves, and check the latest advice with your doctor before travel.

How does the itinerary help with altitude?

The route climbs gradually from the coast through Arequipa (approx. 2,335 m) and the Colca Valley to Puno (approx. 3,830 m) and Cusco (approx. 3,400 m); the Amazon at the end is almost at sea level, a relaxing finale after the Andes. Drink plenty of water and consult your doctor before travel if you have a medical condition.

Can I customize this Peru package?

Yes. Departures are daily, all year, and every day of this 10-day itinerary can be adapted: add nights, upgrade hotels, switch to a luxury train to Machu Picchu or add Huayna Picchu. Just tell us in the request form.

How much does the Ocean to Rainforest tour cost?

The price depends on the hotel category you choose (Essential 2★, Comfort 3★, Superior 4★ or Deluxe 5★) and on the number of travelers. Open the Rates tab for the current price per person, based on double or twin accommodation. Domestic flights are quoted separately so you can choose airline and schedule.
