Curated Peru Icons 17 Days: Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a Peru tour package or a custom trip?

Both. It is a ready-made Peru vacation package with every hotel, transfer, guide, train and excursion already planned, but it runs as a custom trip: you choose the date, the hotel category and the number of travelers, and we can adjust any day. Departures are daily, all year.

What are the icons of Peru included?

The Ballestas Islands, the Huacachina Oasis and the Nazca Lines; Arequipa and the Colca Canyon; Lake Titicaca and its islands; Cusco; Rainbow Mountain; the Sacred Valley with Maras, Moray, Pisac and Ollantaytambo; and Machu Picchu.

Why spend two days in the Sacred Valley?

The valley is lower and warmer than Cusco, perfect for resting after Rainbow Mountain, and it has enough to fill two days: the VIP excursion to Maras and Moray, then Pisac and Ollantaytambo, right next to the train station for Machu Picchu.

What is included in the Curated Peru Icons package?

16 nights with breakfast, all transfers, the Paracas Reserve, the Ballestas boat trip, the Nazca Lines flight, the Colca tour, the Lake Titicaca islands, the Route of the Sun bus, the Cusco city tour, Rainbow Mountain, the VIP Maras and Moray tour, the Sacred Valley, the panoramic train and Machu Picchu with guide.

Is Rainbow Mountain suitable for me?

It is a moderate hike above 5,000 m, and it comes on day 12, after more than a week at altitude, so you will be well acclimatized. Horses can be rented for part of the trail.

How does the itinerary help with altitude?

Altitude is introduced gradually: Arequipa (approx. 2,335 m) and the Colca Valley (approx. 3,600 m) prepare your body before Puno (approx. 3,830 m) and Cusco (approx. 3,400 m). Drink plenty of water, avoid heavy meals on arrival, try coca tea and take the first afternoon at each new altitude slowly. Consult your doctor before travel if you have a medical condition.

Can I customize Curated Peru Icons?

Yes. Departures are daily, all year, and every day of this 10-day itinerary can be adapted: add nights, upgrade hotels, switch to a luxury train to Machu Picchu or add Huayna Picchu. Just tell us in the request form.

How much does Curated Peru Icons cost?

The price depends on the hotel category you choose (Essential 2★, Comfort 3★, Superior 4★ or Deluxe 5★) and on the number of travelers. Open the Rates tab for the current price per person, based on double or twin accommodation. Domestic flights are quoted separately so you can choose airline and schedule.
