9-Day Peru for Two: Dunes & Inca Citadel: Your Questions

What's included in this 9-day Peru tour for couples?

It includes 8 nights in your chosen hotel category with breakfast, private transfers, a guided Lima tour, the Ballestas Islands, a dune buggy ride and sandboarding in Huacachina, a Sacred Valley tour with an overnight stay, panoramic trains and a guided visit to Machu Picchu.

Can this 9-day tour be a honeymoon?

Yes. Choose the Superior or Deluxe hotel category and we can add romantic extras on request, such as a private dinner, a room upgrade or a celebration cake.

Is sandboarding in Huacachina safe for beginners?

Yes. Your driver and guide give a short lesson, and most beginners slide down lying on the board. The dune buggy ride is thrilling but controlled, and you can simply enjoy the sunset over the dunes if you prefer.

When should I travel on this 9-day itinerary?

The coast is sunniest from December to April, while April to November is the dry season in Cusco and Machu Picchu.

How do I manage the altitude on this route?

You fly from Lima directly to Cusco (approx. 3,400 m), so the rest of that day is free to rest and acclimatize. The Sacred Valley (approx. 2,800 m) and Machu Picchu (approx. 2,430 m) are both lower than Cusco. Drink plenty of water, avoid alcohol on the first evening and ask your doctor before you travel if you have a medical condition.

How much does the 9-day Peru tour for couples cost?

The price per person varies with the hotel category (Essential 2★, Comfort 3★, Superior 4★ or Deluxe 5★) and the size of your group. Check the Rates tab for current prices per person in a double or twin room.
