Journey Through the Majestic Colca Valley

Cross the high plateau through the Salinas y Aguada Blanca reserve, where wild vicuñas graze, to the Patapampa viewpoint (approx. 4,900 m), surrounded by volcanoes. 9-Day Peru for Two: Colca & Lost City: Your Questions

What's included in this 9-day Peru tour for couples?

It includes 8 nights in your chosen hotel category with breakfast, private transfers, a guided Lima tour, a 2-day Colca Canyon tour, a private Cusco tour, panoramic trains and a guided visit to Machu Picchu with all entrance fees.

Can this 9-day tour be a honeymoon?

Yes. Choose the Superior or Deluxe hotel category and we can add romantic extras on request, such as a private dinner, a room upgrade or a celebration cake.

Why is Machu Picchu called the Lost City of the Incas?

Machu Picchu was hidden on a mountain ridge above the Urubamba River and was never found by the Spanish conquerors. It became known worldwide in 1911 after Hiram Bingham’s expedition, and today it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

When should I travel on this 9-day itinerary?

April to November is the dry season in Colca, Cusco and Machu Picchu; condors fly all year, best in the early morning.

How do I manage the altitude on this route?

Arequipa (approx. 2,335 m) and the Colca Valley (approx. 3,600 m) prepare you gradually for the Andes before you fly to Cusco (approx. 3,400 m). The road to Colca crosses a pass above 4,800 m, so take it easy, drink coca tea and plenty of water, and consult your doctor before you travel if you have a medical condition.

How much does the 9-day Peru tour for couples cost?

The price per person varies with the hotel category (Essential 2★, Comfort 3★, Superior 4★ or Deluxe 5★) and the size of your group. Check the Rates tab for current prices per person in a double or twin room.
