8-Day Peru Group Tour: Andean Highlands: Questions Answered

What's included in this 8-day Peru group tour?

It includes 7 nights in your chosen hotel category with breakfast, transfers, a guided Lima tour, a Rainbow Mountain excursion, a Sacred Valley tour with an overnight stay, panoramic trains and a guided visit to Machu Picchu.

What size are the groups on this 8-day trip?

We keep groups small so the guide can look after everyone and the mood stays relaxed. Tell us your preferred dates and we will confirm the group size.

Can I ride a horse at Rainbow Mountain?

Yes. Local families rent horses for most of the way up, which makes the hike much easier at over 5,000 m. The last steep section to the viewpoint is done on foot. Horse rental is paid locally.

When is the ideal time for this 8-day trip?

April to November, the dry season, gives the clearest views of Rainbow Mountain and Machu Picchu.

What should I know about the altitude?

Rainbow Mountain (over 5,000 m) comes the day after you arrive in Cusco (approx. 3,400 m), which is demanding for the body. We recommend adding an extra night in Cusco first, or replacing the hike with a gentle day in the Sacred Valley. Drink plenty of water, rest well and consult your doctor before you travel if you have a medical condition.

How much does the 8-day Peru group tour cost?

Your price depends on the hotel category (Essential 2★, Comfort 3★, Superior 4★ or Deluxe 5★) and the number of travelers. See the Rates tab for current prices per person in a double or twin room.
