5-Day Peru Family Trip: Express Horizons: Quick FAQ

What does the 5-day Peru family vacation include?

It includes 4 nights in your chosen hotel category with breakfast, private transfers, the transfer from Cusco airport to Ollantaytambo, panoramic trains and a private guided visit to Machu Picchu with all entrance fees.

Is this 5-day trip good for children?

Yes. The train, the Inca citadel and a free day to discover Cusco’s markets and plazas make it a fun, easy trip for children. Family and connecting rooms can be requested in most hotel categories.

Why go to Machu Picchu on the day I arrive in Cusco?

Going straight down to the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu, which are lower than Cusco, gives your body time to adapt before you sleep at Cusco’s higher altitude. It is the most comfortable way to see Machu Picchu on a short trip.

When should I take this 5-day trip?

April to November is the dry season at Machu Picchu and in Cusco.

Will the altitude affect me on this short trip?

This route is designed to make the altitude easier: from Cusco airport you go directly down to the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu (approx. 2,430 m), and you only spend nights in Cusco (approx. 3,400 m) after two days at lower altitude. Drink plenty of water and consult your doctor before you travel if you have a medical condition.

What does the 5-day Peru family vacation cost?

The price of this 5-day tour depends on the hotel category (Essential 2★, Comfort 3★, Superior 4★ or Deluxe 5★) and the number of travelers. See the Rates tab for the current price per person in a double or twin room.
