15-Day Peru at Ease: The Classic Inca Trail: Frequently Asked Questions

What does this 15-day Peru tour for seniors include?

It includes 10 hotel nights in your chosen category, 1 night on a premium overnight bus and 3 nights camping on the Inca Trail, plus private transfers, the Ballestas Islands, a Nazca Lines overflight, the Colca Canyon, Lake Titicaca, the Route of the Sun, the classic 4-day Inca Trail with permit, guide and porters, and a guided tour of Machu Picchu.

Is the pace comfortable for senior travelers?

Yes. Private transfers, panoramic trains and guided visits keep each day comfortable. The 4-day Inca Trail is demanding. If you prefer, we can replace it with the panoramic train, a hotel night in Aguas Calientes and a guided tour of Machu Picchu.

Do I need a permit for the Inca Trail?

Yes. Inca Trail permits are limited each day and can only be booked through a licensed operator with your passport details. They often sell out months in advance, especially from May to September, so we recommend booking as early as possible.

When is the best time to take this tour?

The dry season, from April to October, offers the best trail conditions. The Inca Trail closes every February for maintenance.

How does the itinerary help with altitude before the trek?

You spend more than a week at increasing altitudes, in Arequipa, the Colca Valley, Puno and Cusco, before starting the Inca Trail. This gradual ascent gives your body time to acclimatize. Drink plenty of water and consult your doctor before travel if you have a medical condition.

How much does the 15-day Peru tour for seniors cost?

The price depends on the hotel category you choose (Essential 2★, Comfort 3★, Superior 4★ or Deluxe 5★) and on the number of travelers. Open the Rates tab to see the current price per person, based on double or twin accommodation.
