2-Week Private Peru: Andes & Amazon River: Your Questions Answered

What does this 2-week private Peru tour include?

It includes 12 hotel nights in your chosen category and 1 night at an Amazon jungle lodge, private transfers, the Ballestas Islands, a Nazca Lines overflight, the Colca Canyon, Lake Titicaca, the Route of the Sun, panoramic trains, a guided tour of Machu Picchu and an Amazon River program from Iquitos.

Can I choose my own dates and change the itinerary?

Yes. Private departures run every day of the year, and you can add nights, change hotel categories, upgrade trains or include extra experiences. Just tell us what you have in mind in the request form.

Can I see Machu Picchu and the Amazon in 2 weeks?

Yes. This itinerary covers the coast, the Colca Canyon, Lake Titicaca, Cusco and Machu Picchu in ten days, then adds Iquitos and a night on the Amazon River before flying back to Lima.

When is the best time to take this 2-week tour?

The tour runs all year. April to November is driest in the Andes; on the Amazon, high water (around December to May) makes it easier to explore by boat, while low water reveals beaches and trails.

How do I avoid altitude sickness on this itinerary?

The route climbs step by step: Arequipa (approx. 2,335 m) and the Colca Valley (approx. 3,600 m) come first, then Puno on Lake Titicaca (approx. 3,830 m) and finally Cusco (approx. 3,400 m). Take it easy on arrival at each new altitude, stay hydrated, try a cup of coca tea and keep the first evening light. If you have a medical condition, check with your doctor before you travel.

How much does the 14-day private Peru tour cost?

Your price depends on two things: the hotel category (Essential 2★, Comfort 3★, Superior 4★ or Deluxe 5★) and the number of travelers. The Rates tab shows the current price per person in a double or twin room, and you can request a personalized quote at no cost.
