2-Week Peru for Two: Condors & Tambopata: Your Questions Answered

What does this 2-week Peru tour for couples include?

It includes 11 hotel nights in your chosen category and 2 nights at Eco Amazonia Lodge, private transfers, the Ballestas Islands, a Nazca Lines overflight, the Colca Canyon, Lake Titicaca, the Route of the Sun, panoramic trains, a guided tour of Machu Picchu and a Tambopata program with meals.

Is this tour suitable for a honeymoon?

Yes. It is one of our favorite routes for honeymoons and anniversaries. Choose a Superior or Deluxe hotel category and we can add romantic touches on request, such as a private dinner, room upgrades or a special celebration.

Can I combine Machu Picchu and the Amazon in 2 weeks?

Yes. This itinerary spends ten days on the coast and in the Andes, including Machu Picchu, then flies from Cusco to Puerto Maldonado for two nights in the Tambopata rainforest.

When is the best time to take this 2-week tour?

The tour runs all year. April to November is the driest period in both the Andes and Tambopata, while December to March brings rain and lush green landscapes.

How do I avoid altitude sickness on this itinerary?

The route climbs step by step: Arequipa (approx. 2,335 m) and the Colca Valley (approx. 3,600 m) come first, then Puno on Lake Titicaca (approx. 3,830 m) and finally Cusco (approx. 3,400 m). Take it easy on arrival at each new altitude, stay hydrated, try a cup of coca tea and keep the first evening light. If you have a medical condition, check with your doctor before you travel.

How much does the 14-day Peru tour for couples cost?

Your price depends on two things: the hotel category (Essential 2★, Comfort 3★, Superior 4★ or Deluxe 5★) and the number of travelers. The Rates tab shows the current price per person in a double or twin room, and you can request a personalized quote at no cost.
