Machu Picchu & Amazon in 13 Luxury Days: FAQ

What is included in this 13-day luxury Peru tour?

It includes 10 hotel nights in your chosen category and 2 nights at an Amazon jungle lodge, private transfers, guided tours of Lima and Cusco, Rainbow Mountain, the Sacred Valley, panoramic trains, a guided visit to Machu Picchu and an Amazon River program from Iquitos.

What level of luxury can I expect on this tour?

Choose the Deluxe 5★ category for top luxury and boutique hotels, or Superior 4★ for premium comfort. Every tour is private, with your own guides, private transfers and panoramic trains to Machu Picchu, and we can add upgrades such as luxury trains, suites, spa treatments or private dinners on request.

Can I combine Machu Picchu and the Amazon in 13 days?

Yes. You spend six days in Cusco, the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu, then fly to Iquitos for three days on the Amazon River before returning to Lima for your flight home.

How does this itinerary handle the altitude?

You fly directly from Lima to Cusco (approx. 3,400 m), so the first day is planned at a gentle pace. Rainbow Mountain reaches more than 5,000 m: if you prefer more time to acclimatize, we can move it later in the trip or replace it with a relaxed day in the Sacred Valley. Drink plenty of water, avoid heavy meals on arrival and ask your doctor before you travel if you have a medical condition.

What wildlife can I see on the Amazon River?

Pink river dolphins, monkeys, sloths, caimans, macaws and many other birds are common, along with the giant Victoria water lilies. Sightings depend on the season and river levels.

How much does this 13-day luxury Peru tour cost?

Rates depend on the hotel category (Essential 2★, Comfort 3★, Superior 4★ or Deluxe 5★) and the number of travelers. For a true luxury experience we recommend the Superior or Deluxe categories. The Rates tab shows the current price per person in a double or twin room.
