13-Day Peru Family Trip: Citadels & Coast: Your Questions Answered

What is included in this 13-day Peru family vacation?

It includes 12 nights in your chosen hotel category with breakfast, private transfers, a guided Lima tour, the Ballestas Islands, a night at Huacachina, a Nazca Lines overflight, a guided Cusco tour, Rainbow Mountain, the Sacred Valley, panoramic trains, Machu Picchu, the Route of the Sun and Lake Titicaca.

Is this 13-day tour suitable for children?

Yes. Sea lions and penguins on the Ballestas Islands, the dunes of Huacachina and the floating Uros Islands are big hits with children. Family and connecting rooms can be requested in most hotel categories.

Can I see the Nazca Lines and Machu Picchu in 13 days?

Yes. This itinerary visits the Ballestas Islands, Huacachina and the Nazca Lines in the first days, returns to Lima by road and then flies to Cusco for Machu Picchu, ending with Lake Titicaca.

When is the best season for this 13-day trip?

April to November is the dry season in Cusco, Machu Picchu and Lake Titicaca, while the coast is pleasant all year. Book early for June to August.

What should I know about the altitude on this route?

You fly directly from Lima to Cusco (approx. 3,400 m), so the first day is planned at a gentle pace. Rainbow Mountain reaches more than 5,000 m: if you prefer more time to acclimatize, we can move it later in the trip or replace it with a relaxed day in the Sacred Valley. Drink plenty of water, avoid heavy meals on arrival and ask your doctor before you travel if you have a medical condition.

What is the price of the 13-day Peru family vacation?

Rates depend on the hotel category (Essential 2★, Comfort 3★, Superior 4★ or Deluxe 5★) and the number of travelers. The Rates tab shows the current price per person in a double or twin room.
