13-Day Peru Adventure: Inca Heartland: Your Questions Answered

What is included in this 13-day Peru adventure tour?

It includes 12 nights in your chosen hotel category with breakfast, private transfers, guided tours of Lima and Cusco, the Ballestas Islands, a Nazca Lines overflight, Rainbow Mountain, the Cocalmayo hot springs, the Hydroelectric walk, Machu Picchu, the Route of the Sun, the Llachón community and Lake Titicaca.

How physically demanding is this 13-day adventure?

Plan for active days with early starts and the Rainbow Mountain hike and an 11 km walk along the Hydroelectric route to Machu Picchu. A good general fitness level is enough, and every hike can be adjusted to your pace.

How long is the Hydroelectric walk to Machu Picchu?

It is a flat walk of about 11 km along the railway beside the Urubamba River, taking approx. 2.5–3 hours, with jungle scenery and first glimpses of Machu Picchu’s terraces. You carry only a day pack.

When is the best season for this 13-day trip?

April to November is ideal, with dry trails for Rainbow Mountain and the Hydroelectric walk and clear skies on Lake Titicaca.

What should I know about the altitude on this route?

You fly directly from Lima to Cusco (approx. 3,400 m), so the first day is planned at a gentle pace. Rainbow Mountain reaches more than 5,000 m: if you prefer more time to acclimatize, we can move it later in the trip or replace it with a relaxed day in the Sacred Valley. Drink plenty of water, avoid heavy meals on arrival and ask your doctor before you travel if you have a medical condition.

What is the price of the 13-day Peru adventure tour?

Rates depend on the hotel category (Essential 2★, Comfort 3★, Superior 4★ or Deluxe 5★) and the number of travelers. The Rates tab shows the current price per person in a double or twin room.
