12-Day Private Peru: Coast & Inca Capital: Common Questions

What's included in the 12-day private Peru tour?

It includes 11 nights in your chosen hotel category with breakfast, private transfers, a guided Lima tour, the Ballestas Islands, a night in Huacachina, a Nazca Lines overflight, a private Cusco tour, Rainbow Mountain, a Sacred Valley tour with an overnight stay, panoramic trains and a guided visit to Machu Picchu.

Can this 12-day private tour be customized?

Absolutely. Start any day of the year, add nights, choose your hotel category, upgrade the train or include extra experiences. Share your ideas in the request form and we will adapt the itinerary.

Why spend a night in the Sacred Valley?

The Sacred Valley is lower than Cusco (approx. 2,800 m), so you sleep better, and staying in Ollantaytambo puts you right by the train station for a relaxed morning ride to Machu Picchu. It is also home to some of Peru’s finest boutique and luxury hotels.

What is the best time of year for this 12-day trip?

April to November is the dry season in Cusco and Machu Picchu, while the coast is pleasant all year.

How can I prepare for the altitude on this route?

You fly straight from Lima to Cusco (approx. 3,400 m), so the first day there is planned at a gentle pace. Drink plenty of water, avoid heavy meals and alcohol on arrival, and try coca tea. If you have a medical condition, check with your doctor before you travel. Rainbow Mountain reaches more than 5,000 m and is optional.

How much is the 12-day private Peru tour?

The price depends on the hotel category you choose (Essential 2★, Comfort 3★, Superior 4★ or Deluxe 5★) and on the size of your party. See the Rates tab for the current price per person in a double or twin room.
