The Essential Inca Trail Luxury Tour: FAQ

What is included in this 10-day luxury Inca Trail tour?

It includes 6 hotel nights in your chosen category, 3 nights of premium camping, private transfers, a guided Lima tour, Rainbow Mountain, a Sacred Valley tour, the classic 4-day Inca Trail with permit, guide, porters and meals, a guided tour of Machu Picchu and the panoramic train back to Cusco.

What luxury services are included in this 10-day tour?

With the Deluxe 5★ category you stay in Peru’s finest luxury and boutique hotels; Superior 4★ offers premium comfort. All services are private: your own guides, private transfers and panoramic trains. On request we add VIP extras such as a luxury train to Machu Picchu, suites, spa treatments or private dinners.

How many people can hike the Inca Trail each day?

Only 500 permits are issued per day, including guides and porters, so around 200 places are for trekkers. Permits are sold by the day and often sell out 4–6 months ahead for May to September.

Does this itinerary give me enough time to acclimatize?

This itinerary gives you three days to acclimatize before the trek: a free afternoon in Cusco (approx. 3,400 m), Rainbow Mountain and a night in the lower Sacred Valley. That is the minimum we recommend before crossing Dead Woman’s Pass (4,215 m). Drink plenty of water, avoid alcohol on the first days and consult your doctor before you travel.

What is the camping like on a luxury Inca Trail?

You sleep in quality tents with mattresses, with a dining tent, a private chef and porters who carry the gear and set up camp. Upgrades such as private toilet tents and larger sleeping tents are available on request.

How much does this 10-day luxury Inca Trail tour cost?

Prices depend on the hotel category (Essential 2★, Comfort 3★, Superior 4★ or Deluxe 5★) and on how many people travel together. For a true luxury trip we recommend Superior or Deluxe. You will find the current price per person in a double or twin room in the Rates tab.
